Gods choice of the cross as the ultimate depiction of His divine being is the pivotal point of true faith. All that mankind would think appropriate to Gods dignity and power is contradicted by His willingness to suffer a criminals death. It is almost as if God went out of His way to devastate and contradict every human notion, every man made concept we might have of Him. The crucifixion of God ought more rightly to be seen as His greatest act: namely, the revelation of the nature of God in His suffering and death. More than in any other place, it was the cross that revealed what Gods divine essence always was and is.

About the Author
Art Katz was born in Brooklyn, New York, of Jewish parents, and raised during the Great Depression and turbulence of World War II. Dropping out of high school, Art became a merchant seaman, and was later drafted into the Army and stationed in post-war Germany. Shattered by the disillusionment and horror of the Holocaust perpetrated against his Jewish kinsmen, Art embraced Marxist and existentialist ideologies as a seeming solution to the vexing human predicament.
Hitchhiking through Europe and the Middle East while on a leave-of-absence from the teaching profession, the cynical and unbelieving atheist, anti-religionist and anti-Christian, was radically apprehended by a God who was actively seeking him. Art attended Santa Monica City College, ULCA, and the University of California at Berkeley, earning Bachelors and Masters degrees in history, as well as a Masters degree in theology at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota. With his speaking ministry as a prophetic voice spanning nearly forty years, Art sought to bring the radical relevance of the Bibles message to contemporary societies, both secular and religious. After a protracted illness, Art passed on to be with the Lord in 2007.
