Jesus continually spoke against covetousness, which is the desire for wealth for the purposes of hoarding. However, He never said that Christians should avoid material possessions, or that they should seek poverty for poverty’s sake. He did say, “But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
Much has been written about tithing being the key to prosperity. However, it is our belief that the writers stopped short of the full answer to the question regarding Christian prosperity. Jesus plainly told of a master key to material blessings in this world, even though little has been said or written about it.
Tithing was the master key in the Old Testament to temporal blessing (and is still important in the New), but there is also a master key to prosperity in the New Testament. Let’s take a closer look at God’s Word, and He reveals His Master Key to Prosperity.
